Fred worked as expedition staff/guide for Quark expeditions

and participated in several remote field ventures including:

- 600 km solo trek in Western Cameroon

- 8 weeks icecap skidoo traverse expedition in AAT (ABC)

- 6 months at Auster Emperor penguin Rookery (BBC)

- Work off remote field camps in the Casey and Mawson areas

- Southern Ocean sailing to Macquarie Island (BBC)
